Dear Editor,
I just wanted to write a note to recognize Jack Hunter and the new Cuddles for Cancer initiative he recently launched in Airdrie.
On Oct. 19, there was a knock at our door and there was this composed 11-year-old young man with a blanket for my mom, Judy Wells, who was diagnosed in August with glioblastoma – a type of brain cancer. She is currently living with us while she receives radiation treatments at Tom Baker Cancer Centre.
I have to say our whole family was extremely impressed by this young man’s composure. He was elegant and empathic in his presentation. My mom loves the blanket.
I would encourage our community to “pay it forward.” Currently, Cuddles for Cancer is launching its Sponsor a Soldier Campaign. Members of the community can simply donate $50 and Jack’s Cuddles team will make a blanket for a veteran.
