Crossfield Town office belongs on Railway Street

Dear editor, Congratulations to Crossfield Town council for proposing an excellent site for the new Town office, that being in the north block of Railway Street.

Dear editor,

Congratulations to Crossfield Town council for proposing an excellent site for the new Town office, that being in the north block of Railway Street.

The location is presently occupied by the Rocky View County grader shed, which after all these years no longer belongs in this neighbourhood and should be relocated to the industrial zone in Crossfield – perhaps shared space in the Town’s maintenance yard.

A new Town office at this location would greatly improve the appearance of this end of Railway Street, which leads up to the Crossfield Community Centre, the arena and the schools. The property also has adequate space for off-street parking for administration staff and visitors.

The Crossfield Library, being a family-oriented facility rather than an administrative service, should be expanded in its present location, in Banta Park.

As Town council has put this matter to plebiscite, I encourage all residents to vote for the Railway Street location for the new Town office on June 9.

Clifford Hurt, Crossfield
