Councillor seems to be missing in action

Dear Editor, It was nice to see our councillor, Mark Kamachi, getting news coverage for his efforts to raise awareness of prostate cancer . He also seems to be quite active in the community – always there for the photo ops at community events.

Dear Editor, It was nice to see our councillor, Mark Kamachi, getting news coverage for his efforts to raise awareness of prostate cancer. He also seems to be quite active in the community – always there for the photo ops at community events. Those are all good, but it would be nice to think he was as devoted to representing the Division 1 residents at council, where important decisions that affect all of us are made. I was surprised to learn Kamachi wasn’t at council Nov. 13, to support the Bragg Creek distillery initiative. On further checking, it seems he’s absent quite frequently and has missed more council meetings than all the other councillors combined – not a great record. Fortunately, the distillery, which should provide a boost to Bragg Creek’s economy, was approved in spite of his absence. Given his track record, I’m sure he’ll make it to the photo op for its grand opening. Some consolation, I guess. Louise Ball Division 1
