Re: “Development cuts off Bow River access,” June 1 RVW

Dear editor,

The article has caused some people to mistakenly believe that the development of CottageClub will affect public access to the Bow River. The river is currently accessed by Range Road 60 and a private road belonging to TransAlta. CottageClub is indeed bordered by these two roads, but its development does not affect or restrict access to the Bow River.

CottageClub is a gated recreational community accessed from Range Road 60. TransAlta’s private road runs along the south boundary of CottageClub. Currently, many recreational users drive on TransAlta’s private road and park on TransAlta lands to access the river. Our cottage owners are also users of the Bow River and currently enjoy access to the Bow River across TransAlta’s property.

The development of CottageClub has no impact or affect on TransAlta’s private road in any way. CottageClub is proud to be a good neighbour and is committed to environmental stewardship. I invite all your readers to visit CottageClub and learn more about how CottageClub is reinventing recreational development.
