Irricana library's summer reading program starts

The summer reading program is now underway at the Irricana library. The library offers various summer reading activities such as Craft Day, every Monday at 5 p.m. All ages are welcome.

The summer reading program is now underway at the Irricana library.

The library offers various summer reading activities such as Craft Day, every Monday at 5 p.m. All ages are welcome.

The Summer Reading Program runs all summer with special events such as Explore the Jungle in Your Backyard. This special animal series is presented by the Calgary Humane Society in conjunction with the Irricana library and includes such topics as Wolf at the Water Bowl (July 15); Tiger in Your Kitchen (July 22); Reptiles and Amphibians (July 29); Critter Care for Kids (Aug. 5) and My Pet and Me (Aug. 12). All sessions are at 2 p.m. Seating is limited so please sign up at the library for each of them.

On July 28, there will be a trivia challenge day for kids complete with a pizza party. The event is for kids 10 and up and will run from 2 to 3 p.m.

Featured Artist of the Month at the library is Glenn Collins from rural Crossfield. Check out his wonderful rural inspired paintings.
