Airdrie is no longer under a State of Local Emergency (SOLE).

According to a press release from the City of Airdrie, the SOLE was terminated effective 5 p.m. June 16.

"Safety remains a top priority for Airdrie and we continue to closely monitor the spread of the virus moving forward," the release stated. "The number of cases in Airdrie remains very low, allowing for the termination of the SOLE, however this does not indicate that the pandemic is over."

According to Alberta Health Services, Airdrie had one active case of COVID-19 as of June 16.

The City's press release stated Airdrie has seen low numbers of cases due to residents adhering to health guidelines.

"We thank everyone for their cooperation, patience and support and remind everyone to remain vigilant in keeping our community healthy and safe," the release stated.

The SOLE first came into effect March 17. According to the release, it was meant as a measure to support the province's efforts to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
