Here is the December 2022 submission of the APL Book Page, showcasing some of the library's books Airdrie readers can enjoy getting lost in this Christmas and New Year's weekend.

Bert Church LIVE Theatre hosted an evening showing of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas in partnership with DIY Theatre on Dec. 23.

This week's cold snap was no match for the Airdrie City View's many carriers, who braved the -30 C temperatures to deliver the newspapers door to door.

George McDougall High School hosted its annual Christmas band concert, dubbed "A Not So Silent Night," on Dec. 21.

Airdrie RCMP are asking patrons at the Pharmasave who may have witnessed this most recent robbery to please come forward with any additional information.

“The City of Airdrie is doing ‘Downtown Differently’ by looking at the strengths and weaknesses of our core area and proposing municipal actions and incentives to accelerate redevelopment and revitalization,” read the City press release. 

“The money that we get from all fundraising goes towards our food costs in order to keep the meals affordable for those that rely on our service and are on a fixed income,” Jones added.  

“It has been my absolute honour and privilege to help and hopefully refuel each and every Airdrie citizen’s heart tanks. I personally know it has refueled my own," she said.

Whether or not you are a self-proclaimed Scrooge, I encourage you to partake in the finer things this holiday season has to offer - such as acts of kindness, compassion, and generosity - rather than getting lost in a list of “have-to-dos" and “must-buys.”

While our programmers are on a break until Jan. 9, 2023, here at Airdrie Public Library (APL), it’s time again to point out some of the new and exciting programs that have been planned for the new year.
