While honoured to be a recipient of a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal, Davis feels there are a lot of unsung heroes working in disaster relief and emergency management.

Families attended the Airdrie Public Library's Family Literacy Day celebration on Jan. 28 to listen to some stories and partake in some other literacy-themed fun.

But what I didn’t realize is that I would personally benefit from the local advocacy efforts I had been reporting on these past two years to better equip our local emergency responders and to support ambulance response times in our community.

With the high cost of virtually everything these days, it’s understandable that some of Airdrie Public Library’s (APL) patrons may be looking for ways to save a few bucks.

The Welcoming Airdrie organizing committee is seeking bilingual volunteers to help new Canadians adjust to life in Airdrie.

According to Lutz, raising the flags is significant to the community and is an important gesture to acknowledge the agreement that was made with the Treaty 7 members.

“We have loved getting to know all of this incredible community, and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you so much for the support. We would not have lasted five years if it wasn’t for you.”

“We’re not doing it for fame or for money, we’re just doing it because we love what we do. We want to see a better society, a better tomorrow for our children,” Ilochonwu said.

When the episode with Mila and Luca is about to air later this season, Ricioppo said she plans to host a private viewing party at her home in Airdrie with some of her friends and family.
