Airdrie P.O.W.E.R's inaugural Coldest Night of the Year walk was well attended on Feb. 25. The walk raised nearly $39,000 to support Airdrie P.O.W.E.R's women's day shelter and other work to support vulnerable women in the community.

Airdrie Firefighters Rickey-Lee Devries, Joel Veitch, Alex Moran and Trevor Remington were grateful their long, cold ordeal concluded at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The four had spent a bitter 72 hours on the rooftop of the Toad n Turtle Pub to raise awareness and funds for Muscular Dystrophy Canada. The quartet were given a hero’s welcome as they descended from the roof one last time.
