King's Kids Preschool Little Bunnies Easter Festival in Airdrie saw brisk traffic on Saturday afternoon as visitors celebrated the Easter holiday and the long-awaited arrival of spring weather.

Many Airdronians came out to the Easter weekend 'Spring Fling' Farmers' Market at the Town and Country Centre on Saturday. The well-attended market featured homemade baked goods, preserves, handcrafts and other items for shoppers to peruse.

King’s Kids Preschool in Airdrie is inviting local families with young children to celebrate Easter with them this coming Saturday.

“My father in law played every day of his life from the time he was about eight years old. He lived to be 92, and he never had one – and never saw one either.”

George McDougall High School students once again took part in the school's annual "Ride of the Mustang" 72-hour bike-a-thon this week, to raise funds for the Kids Helping Kids oncology program at the Alberta Children’s Hospital to help pay for research and equipment. This year's ride raised approximately $55,000.

According to AIWC, baby hares are born without a scent, which allows them to avoid predation and permits them to be left alone safely for several hours at a time while their mother is out feeding.

Spring will be in the air at the Airdrie Farmers’ Market this Saturday at the Town and Country Centre.

“I’m still trying to get over it because it has been years of perfecting my technique, really figuring out who I am, what I represent, and what I want to do in my community,” she said. “This isn’t something I spontaneously decided to do.”
