During the holiday break, when your children are home from school and some of you may have taken time off, we here at Airdrie Public Library (APL) would like to point out the many good things stuffed into that thin piece of plastic called your library card.

An Airdrie yoga studio is hoping to generate some good karma by offering free yoga classes to the public in exchange for voluntary donations in the form of food or funds, to be gifted to the Airdrie Food Bank and other local charities.

“We’re looking for those that capture the imagination and are nice to look at when driving around the community. A lot of times it’s the ones that kids respond to."

An Airdrie resident who has overcome physical barriers to become an accomplished athlete and advocate for those living with disabilities – namely cerebral palsy - has won a Premier Council’s Award for her public awareness and advocacy efforts.

During its regular meeting on Dec. 9, the Rocky View Schools (RVS) Board of Trustees heard the results of multiple feedback sessions held last month with parents and teachers regarding the government’s new Kindergarten to Grade 6 draft curriculum.

The City of Airdrie Council approved its budget for 2022 in a nearly unanimous vote, with 5 councillors voting in favour and a single vote in opposition from newly appointed councillor Heather Spearman during a special meeting on Dec. 13.

On Dec. 9, local representatives from the Veterans Brotherhood – a support group for veterans in western Canada – presented a $500 cheque to Community Links, a local non-profit organization that provides community support services and programs in Airdrie and the surrounding communities.
