Students of Ecole Airdrie Middle School performed the annual Terry Fox Run Sept. 30. Differing from past years, the run was divided into multiple cohorts due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rocky View Schools (RVS) students and staff are slated to participate in the annual Terry Fox Run to raise funds for cancer research throughout the month of September.

According to an RVS press release, many schools in the public school district have a long history of taking part in the Terry Fox Run, which provides an opportunity for students to engage in physical activity while also making a monetary contribution to the Terry Fox Foundation.

"This activity is an example of how students demonstrate making a positive difference in their life, school, community and the world – one of the outcomes in our four-year education plan," read the press release.

Airdrie schools participating in the event include Nose Creek Elementary School and Ralph McCall School, which will be participating in the event on Sept. 16. Thereafter, Cooper's Crossing School, École Airdrie Middle School, Heloise Lorimer School, and Herons Crossing School will be hosting their Terry Fox Run events on Sept. 23.

Other public schools in rural Rocky View County that are participating in the event include Chestermere High School on Sept. 19, and both Langdon School and Sarah Thompson School on Sept. 23.
