Bow Valley High School in Cochrane will have to say goodbye to its current Assistant Principal Scott Bloxham, as he makes the move to principal of Airdrie’s Muriel Clayton Middle School in the August, according to a Rocky View Schools (RVS) press release.

Having worked in RVS since 2004, according to the school division, Bloxham served as a drama teacher at Springbank Community High, Chestermere Lake Middle and Bert Church High School, before taking his first assistant principal position at Bert Church in 2014.

Prior to arriving in the jurisdiction, Bloxham was a community outreach manager and an association-training manager, both for YMCA Calgary, states the release.

“Well-respected by his students, peers and colleagues,” according to RVS, “over the years Bloxham has dedicated significant time beyond the school day directing extra-curricular drama productions, coaching badminton, football, soccer and track and field, and leading speech and debate clubs.

“In recent administrative roles, he has helped modernize a learning commons, served as a mentor and facilitator for RVS’ Administrative Leadership Program and organized and led international travel groups.”

Bloxham currently is a member of RVS’ Procedural Advisory Committee and Superintendent Design Team on Instructional Design, according to the release, and holds a master of science in education from Kaplan University and two bachelor’s degrees, one in education and the other in fine arts from the University of Calgary and the University of Victoria respectively.
