New Horizon Mall celebrates Easter

With Easter just around the corner, New Horizon Mall is celebrating the holiday with a free scavenger hunt from March 18 to 31.

With Easter just around the corner, New Horizon Mall is celebrating the holiday with a free scavenger hunt from March 18 to 31.

According to New Horizon Mall’s website, staff have placed a golden egg in various stores throughout the shopping centre, with clues on the mall’s Facebook and Instagram pages. Participants will use the clues is to guess which store the eggs are in, and each correct guess will receive an entry for a filled Easter basket filled with treats and chocolate.

The winners must be 18 years or older to collect the prize, according to the mall's website, and one entry is allowed per family for each post. The winner must also present identification before receiving the price.

Alongside the scavenger hunt, Alex Winn, the mall’s marketing manager, said the Balzac-based shopping centre is hosting another free Easter-themed scavenger hunt for kids on March 27, with a prize draw taking place on April 3.

“We’ll be displaying plastic eggs in stores around the mall and families are encouraged to have fun discovering those eggs,” she said.

According to Winn, participants on March 27 will also be able to take socially distanced photos with the Easter Bunny.

After not being able to host an Easter event in 2020 due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Winn said the mall’s staff are looking forward to being able to embrace the Easter holiday this year.

“We did have to cancel our Easter event last year, so we’re excited to host an event this year,” she said. “It’s been approved by Alberta Health Services, so we’re excited to move forward with it and give everyone a chance to come out and celebrate Easter with New Horizon Mall.”
