Legacy Run to End Family Violence raises at least $5,000

The third annual Legacy Run to End Family Violence saw runners take to east Aridrie April 14 as they helped raise funds for programs and services that support those impacted by family violence.

Community Links Legacy Run to End Family Violence saw runners take to the track at Ed Eggerer Athletic Park April 14. Though official the amount raised during the event are yet to be determined, a representative from Community Links said the total is at least $5,000.

The third annual Legacy Run to End Family Violence saw runners take to east Aridrie April 14 as they helped raise funds for programs and services that support those impacted by family violence. Proceeds from the event will be split between North Rocky View Community Links and the Airdrie and District Victims Assistance Society.

The run offered races for all levels of distance runners, including five-kilometre (km), 10-km and half-marathon options, and began and finished at Ed Eggerer Athletic Park with participants passing through the Meadowbrook and Kings’ Heights neighbourhoods.

According to Community Links Community Engagement Manager Laurie Jacob-Toews, though final fundraising totals have yet to be determined, at least $5,000 was raised.
