Volunteer Airdrie Society named Rabia Abdullah of Airdrie as Volunteer of the Month Award for July, at a ceremony at the Market Street Save-on-Food Aug. 15.
Rabia has been an active volunteer in the community since moving her family to Airdrie a few years ago and joining Volunteer Airdrie in 2017. She is a regular volunteer for Community Links, Bethany Airdrie and Victory Church, as well as other community events that Volunteer Airdrie supports.
This month's sponsors included Save-On-Foods Market Street, Mayor Peter Brown, Coun. Tina Petrow, Paros on Main and Mr. Mike's.
Volunteer Airdrie is a non-profit society and charitable organization formed in 2010. Its mission is, “To empower Airdrie residents to invest in themselves and their community through volunteerism” and its vision for the City of Airdrie is, “A city where volunteering and community involvement are a chosen way of life."
