SUVs have become popular on the prairies. They have the ruggedness of a truck with lots of room for passengers and cargo. The 2023 Chevrolet Traverse LT North all-wheel drive is a top seller in this market.

Power and Speed

The Traverse has a V6 3.6 gas powered motor. With a nine speed automatic transmission, it can do zero to 60 in under seven seconds – with all the power and a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs. This SUV can get you where you want to go and lets you bring all your toys with you.

Interior and Cargo Space

The Chevrolet Traverse is large but not bulky compared to some of its competitors. Some reviews have stated that the exterior is chunky and underwhelming, but there have been some revisions with the headlamps and the updated grills. The interior is where the Traverse beats its competitors. The large interior cabin is great for passengers and with three rows (2+3+3) of seating. The flexibility of the interior maximizes cargo room. When all the seats are upright, enjoy 651 litres of cargo space. When all the rear seats are down, there is 2,781 litres of cargo space, making any goalie parent happy!

Fuel Economy

Going green is a hot topic, so know that the Chevrolet Traverse is a fuel injected gasoline vehicle. It will not have the same green effect of an electric or hybrid car. The gas mileage is approximately 13 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, and 8.5 litres per 100 kilometres on the highway.

Safety

Chevrolet is known for its safety and the 2023 Traverse is no exception. The standard safety includes automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking and lane assist with lane departure warning. Also included is a forward collision alert, automatic high beams and following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control and rear park assist are available in some packages. The Traverse has rear backup camera and HD surround vision to ensure that the driver has complete awareness.

Let’s Talk Toys

With new cars comes new technology. Sound is important, from the crisp voice of a podcast to the extra bass pumping on the stereo. With a 10 speaker Bose audio system with a subwoofer, your music will be loud and clear. The audio has Bluetooth technology and Sirius XM satellite radio. The is an 8” navigation system with a colour touchscreen can connect Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Some models can connect two active mobile devices to the car and have wireless charging. Chevrolet Traverse also has WiFi hotspot capability.

All Those Little Extras

There are small extras that make the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse one of the best SUVs. The heated steering wheel, seats and mirrors are great for the Canadian winters. A power-lift tailgate is available for loading the back cargo hold. The driver seat has an eight-way power adjuster and the passenger seat has six ways, including lumbar control.
