Cochrane RCMP is investigating a suspected child-luring event in Bragg Creek that took place on Sept. 19, and is asking for the public's help in identifying the male suspect.

"Cochrane RCMP’s investigation indicates that at approximately 4 p.m. on Sept. 19, an 11-year-old female was walking in the area of White Avenue in Bragg Creek when an older male in a grey Dodge Ram pickup truck pulled onto the grass next to her," a press release from the detachment states.

"From inside the pick-up truck, the male spoke to the 11-year-old female in what is believed to have been an attempt to lure her into his vehicle. The youth continued walking without interacting with the male and the male drove away."

A sketch of the male was included with the release. The man is described as approximately 50 to 60 years old, with thinning short hair – possibly grey or brown – with a long beard. He wore a blue T-shirt and sweat pants.

His vehicle is described as a grey, older-model Dodge Ram pick-up truck, with a dent in the driver's side door.

"Anyone who may know the identity of the subject in the sketch, or has information about this incident is asked to contact the Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000," stated RCMP's release. "If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the "P3 Tips" app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store."
