Canmore man wanted on arrest warrant, charged with sexual interference

RCMP

CANMORE – Local RCMP are asking the public for help in locating a Canmore man who was recently charged with sexual interference.

Jesus Fernando Pina-Aguirre, 33, has been charged with sexual interference after a complaint earlier this month of sexual interference against a young child.

RCMP confirmed the victim and Pina-Aguirre were known to each other.

“This is not a stranger offence, however there are concerns with this individual being around other kids based on what allegedly occurred,” Cpl. Deanna Fontaine said.

RCMP are encouraging anyone with information on Pina-Aguirre, who also goes by Fernando Pina, to contact the Canmore RCMP or their local police station.

“We need anyone else who may have information about this to contact Canmore RCMP or their local police,” Fontaine said.

“As the RCMP, usually we wouldn’t go out with a warrant this soon, however because of the nature of this offence, we want him to be arrested and dealt with through the judicial process in order to potentially impose conditions in order to address those concerns for the safety of the public.”

Pina-Aguirre is described as 5’7”, 143 lbs with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Canmore RCMP said Pina-Aguirre’s current whereabouts are unknown, but he has been known to frequent the Canmore and Calgary areas.

RCMP are asking anyone who has information about Pina-Aguirre’s whereabouts to contact Canmore RCMP at 403-687-5519 or if you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
