Banff RCMP investigating fatal motor vehicle rollover

A 23-year-old woman from Kelowna, B.C. was killed in the rollover on the Trans-Canada Highway near Banff on Wednesday evening (Jan. 27) at approximately 6:50 p.m.

BANFF – The Banff RCMP is investigating a single vehicle rollover that resulted in the death of a 23-year-old woman from Kelowna, B.C.

According to a press release, the motor vehicle collision occurred Wednesday evening (Jan. 27) at approximately 6:50 p.m. on the Trans-Canada Highway near the Minnewanka exit. 

The vehicle was travelling westbound when it lost control and rolled, landing between the highway and the Minnewanka exit. A 23-year-old woman from Kelowna, B.C. was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A female youth, adult male and adult female, all from Kelowna as well and passengers in the vehicle, were assessed for minor injuries and transported to Banff Mineral Springs Hospital for further assessment.

An RCMP collision analyst attended the scene to assist in the investigation.
