The team at Tires on the Run poses in the newest addition to their services – a brick-and-mortar shop in east Airdrie.

Tires on the Run makes purchasing a new pair of “shoes” for your vehicle as efficient and convenient as possible by bringing their services to you, no matter where that may be.

The business, bought almost six years ago by Roger Foster and his wife Angela, offers mobile tire repair, seasonal swaps, roadside assistance and more to the people of Airdrie and surrounding areas, all while travelling to their customers’ houses and workplaces.

“The idea of someone coming to your home to do service really makes life a lot easier,” Foster said.

The mechanics will arrive in a refurbished transit bus or an upgraded cube van that allows them to store and transport all of the materials needed to provide whatever service is required.

Foster said he was actually a loyal customer to Tires on the Run prior to his purchase of the company. He had called for car help years ago and the former business owner said that although he’d be happy to help, this would be the last time he’d be able to do so.

“I liked what I saw in the potential, so three weeks later, we bought it,” he said.

Since then, Foster said they have refurbished a Ford Cube van, a truck, and are in the process of finishing up their first ever brick-and-mortar shop in order to widen their audience and serve those who may not have the budget to book services at home.

The business owner, who has a background in sales, said their business is successful, due to the demand for the services they offer and how they fit in to their customers’ busy lives.

“People just don’t have enough time to be shopping, and they certainly don’t have enough time to go to a tire shop,” Foster said.

At the news of his Best of Airdrie Readers’ Choice Award, as selected by readers of the Airdrie City View, Foster said he was surprised, but ultimately very honoured to be nominated and voted for by the community. The business took home Gold in the tires category.

“A huge, huge, thank you to the community. It is because of their support that we’re able to support our family,” Foster said.

The Best of Airdrie accolade was not the business’ first recognition, as Tires on the Run also won the Business Innovation award in the Airdrie Chamber of Commerce’s 2020 Business Awards.

Customer service is a big part of the Tires on the Run community, and Foster added he always has the best interest of his clients at heart.

“My goal is to view the purchase of the tires or the wheels from their side,” he said.

Foster said living in the community has allowed him to really get to know his client base, helping him meet and become friends with the people he serves, and ultimately see the impact that he has on their lives.

“I have met so many fantastic people in this community,” he said.
