Donald (Don) Polsfut, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, July 18th, 2023 (age 84 years) at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, Alberta. Don was born on December 16th, 1938 in Biggar, Saskatchewan to Ferdinand (Vern) and Hazel Polsfut. Don is survived by his wife Cathy, his three sons, Derek (Bonnie) Polsfut of Calgary, Roland (Shawna) of Airdrie and Curtis (Anita) of Grande Prairie; nine grandchildren, Hana (Evan) Ingram of Airdrie, Payton McBride of Calgary, Sofia Polsfut-Bronstein of Calgary, Claudia Polsfut of Calgary, Daymond Polsfut of Calgary, Madaleine Polsfut of Sackville, NB, Rebecca Polsfut of Wolfville, NS, Brianna Polsfut of Airdrie and Rowin Polsfut of Grande Prairie; his brother Leonard of Prince George, BC, sister Barbara Berglund of Winnipeg, brother Ben Polsfut of Saskatoon and sister Marlene Fournier of Saskatoon. Don was predeceased by his parents, as well as his brothers Russell, Lloyd, Lawrence, Gary and his sister Joan Berglund.
The Polsfut Family would like to extend our thanks to the medical staff at Rockyview General Hospital for their unwavering efforts to bring as much comfort and care as possible for Don in his last days. A Celebration of Life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Linda Hunter officiating.
